I wanna be sedated

Surgery day. After 30 plus years of sinus trouble, it’s time. I’m a bit anxious, but hopeful. Shannon’s been through this much more than me, and I know that sitting in the waiting room for your loved ones is the hardest part of this whole ordeal.

But all is not grim. It’s Verizon iPhone day!

Update (10:08 pm CST): turns out buying my iPhone was the highlight of the day. I was at the hospital at 11:30 am as instructed to find out the surgeon was delayed. That was not unexpected. But what wasn’t expected was the hour long wait to find out I likely wouldn’t get in until 6 pm. It was that bad. I joked and wondered if that was a good way to treat their Foursquare Mayor.

So home I went for a nap with instructions to call back at 4. At 2:15, they called me to come in. Wheeled to pre-op at 4:15, and surgery about a hour later. Surgery done at 7:15, and back to my room at 8. I finally got home a little after 9:30. Arby’s never tasted so good, when you’ve fasted for 24 hours.
