Dream a little dream, part 2

In my Dream a Little Dream post last fall, I talked about Ambers Dream, a project to redesign the children’s wing of Medcenter One hospital in Bismarck. This spring, that dream will be realized. Check out the story over at The Flip Side.

The Amber’s Dream project began as an idea years ago by one of Medcenter One‘s patients, Amber Des Roches, who battled cancer and lost her battle in 2007.

She dreamed of a children’s hospital where kids could be kids.

In 2009, through Basin Electric’s St. Baldrick’s Day and the lead donation of $80,000 by Basin Electric, Capital Electric, KEM Electric, Mor-Gran-Sou Electric, Roughrider Electric and Slope Electric cooperatives for the playroom, the transformation began.

The theme of the project is Neverland and the essence of the adventure.

This spring, the entire project will be complete. The project is a tribute to Amber and her vision to help all children who are hospitalized find a way to escape the realities of their illness. Read More
